Whiskey Basterds

Video Premiere: Whiskey Basterds “Mississippi Mud”

Listen & Watch Video Premieres

Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Whiskey Basterds ‘ song “Mississippi Mud.” The song was produced and mixed by Ken Eros; recorded by John Roulette and Jason Roller; and mastered by Scott Hull.

“Mississippi Mud” is Michael Shonafelt on rhythm guitar and vocals; Jon B. Wilder on lead guitar; Jason Roller (Alabama, Dave Mason, Dolly Parton) on fiddle; George Biner on pedal steel and bass; Ben Davis on drums; and Tegan Taylor on backing vocals.

The video was filmed, directed and edited by Anna Webber; with acting by Helen Henning. Austin Nelson was the camera operator; and hair, makeup, and wardrobe were courtesy of Ruby Tecson.  With blended scenes of mountain road trips and the band playing in a woodsy cabin setting, this is a very enjoyable, throwback country rock video.  Whiskey Basterds rock with resonator and acoustic guitars with fiddle and banjo thrown in to have you up on your feet and clapping along.

Mississippi Mud is the Whiskey Basterds’ newest single — a rousing homage to their musical roots. Sit back, buckle up, pour a drink and enjoy. — Michael Shonafelt
