Laura wrote this upbeat anthem with her father, James Cheadle, who also recorded, mixed and produced the song at Swedesboro Music Studio in Swedesboro, New Jersey. Peter Humphreys mastered the track. Under Klementina Budnik’s direction, the accompanying music video utilizes KXB Studio’s unique style along with Robin Prentice’s character design to allow fans to view the world with Laura’s overwhelming sense of optimism.
With a warm color palette and vibrant tones, Cheadle is surrounded by animated animals, flowers and mountains that reflect the positivity that shines in the song. This is an inventive take on the typical music video that relies on clever videography and a clear storyline. This intent comes through in both the song and the accompanying visuals.
“‘Everybody Say’ came to me in a dream and it was a reflection of being home during COVID. I took this dream to the recording studio, and my dad came up with the music in minutes. I was tired of seeing so much negativity and wanted to lead off with a single to heal people and bring joy to their lives,” Cheadle said.
Featuring her brother Jimmy Lee on guitar and her mother Sue on background vocals, this song is truly a family affair and a testament to the magic that the Cheadle family can create when they come together. “Everybody Say” is the perfect vehicle to showcase Laura’s chipper personality. It’s safe to say that we can expect the singer-songwriter’s future releases to deliver sunshine and inspiration as well.
