Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Drew Fish’s song “Devil You Know” from his recent release Wishful Drinkin‘. Wishful Drinkin’ was produced by Adam Odor with additional production by Jeff Silvey; mixed by Billy Decker and Adam Odor with assistant engineers Aaron Silvey and Mark Lonsway. The album was mastered by Rob Coats, Don Cobb and Eric Conn; and recorded at Cedar Creek Studios and Yellow Dog Studios County Q. The album art is by Amy Rankin, April Rankin, and Eric Lenington. Single art for “The Devil You Know” is by Arnold Gonzalez.
In a classic dive bar setting complete with pool table and Texas flag, Drew Fish and crew present an easygoing, relatable tale with a honky tonk backdrop. In addition to serving up a helluva catchy song, Fish creates a secondary result of longing. With this scene of casual drinking and “raising hell” that we all miss so dearly right now, the party scene taps into a genuine hankering for social interaction and friends.
“The Devil You Know” is Nate Coon on drums and percussion; Michael Tarabay on bass; Paul Eason on electric and acoustic guitars; Cody Braun on fiddle; John Michael Whitby on piano and Lyndon Hughes on harmony vocals with Drew Fish on lead vocals.
The video was created by Thomas Abowd (active social director) and Jonathan Bronson (assistant director). The characters were selected through a social media contest, and the stars are Tanner Kneese (lead male), Lead Female: Katie Leigh (lead female) with Katie Kirkpatrick (girlfriend at bar), Cameron Zokaei (guy at table) Felix Truvere (guy at bar), Kayla Reed (lead’s friend at bar), Kirby Kitchens and Alex Prime (dancers), Seth Schueler (guy playing pool) with the band: Reese Foster on drums, Iliana Kraus on fiddle, Andy Fish on keys, Joseph Piacenti on lead guitar and Ivan Pierce on bass.
“The Devil You Know” video is the first time that we have done a social media contest to pick our lead roles. We had a blast shooting it and got to make some new friends in the process. — Drew Fish
