Americana Highways presents this premiere of Radio Receiver’s song “Billy #10” from their forthcoming self-titled album. Radio Receiver was produced by Ezra Meredith for Deer Lodge Records. “Billy #10” is Nate Wallace on vocals and guitar; Mark Folkrod on drums; Jason Willmon on bass; and Anna Verlet on violin and vocals.
With unconventional vocal tones, Radio Receiver pulls you in to the heart of a tragic tale. With the music sidewinding powerfully to its acoustic pinnacle, you’ll be mesmerized.
This is the first track on the album. ‘Billy #10.’ A Billy the Kid inspired western tale. The title comes from the numerical pattern from the track titles on the Bob Dylan soundtrack album Pat Garrett & Billy. Those tracks are Billy 1, 4, 7… well, I just titled my song ‘Billy 10.’ The story is told from the point of view of one of Billy’s gang members who later in his life becomes a dime store novelist. Historical Fiction. — Nate Wallace
