Americana Highways brings you this premiere of the Two Tracks’ song “Cheers to Solitude,” the title track from their forthcoming album. Cheers to Solitude was produced by Will Kimbrough, mixed by Trina Shoemaker and engineered by Sean Sullivan. It was recorded at The Butcher Shoppe in Nashville, TN.
“Cheers to Solitude” is Julie Szewc on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Dave Huebner on cello and background vocals, Fernando Serna on drums and background vocals, Taylor Phillips on bass and background vocals, with Will Kimbrough on electric guitar. With potent cello and comforting vocals, the Two Tracks arrest your attention from the opening heartbeats of “Cheers to Solitude.”
The song “Cheers to Solitude” was actually authored in 2019 prior to the Pandemic we are all currently experiencing. The song was also chosen as the title track to the album long before the Covid-19 outbreak. Originally written with the intention of describing the feelings of depression and grief, it has come full circle now and has taken on new meaning during the difficult times everyone is and has faced in 2020. We’ve very much embraced this new identity and hope that people can relate with the song in numerous ways. — Julia Szewc
