Listen & Watch Video Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Chance Emerson’s song “How Can I” from his forthcoming album The Raspberry Men, which was mixed by Palmer Nix, recorded by Finn George and mastered by John Baldwin. The album version of “How Can I” is  Chance Emerson (vocals, ukulele, bass, backing vocals, organ, electric guitar), Perry Chase (steel drums) and Alex Emerson (percussion).  The video was produced by Chance Emerson himself playing a solo banjo version.

In this raw recording, with banjo, the latest contribution by Chance Emerson points the way to a bright future for him.

I wrote this song fully acoustic after driving back from my grandparents’ house. I thought it would be a slow and mellow tune until I got around to producing it and decided to speed it up and change things around. It seemed fitting to get back to the song’s roots in a live version. That’s my grandmother’s banjo in the video, too.” – Chance Emerson
