Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of the Jorgensen’s “Voo Doo” from their upcoming album The Lexington Stretch.  The Lexington Stretch was produced by: Kurt Jorgensen & Brianna Tagg -Jorgensen and recorded at Cream and Sugar Recording in St. Paul, MN. “Voo Doo” is Brianna Tagg- Jorgensen on lead vocal and acoustic guitar;  Kurt Jorgensenon backup vocals, electric guitar & percussion; Jeff King on clarinets, Scott Snyder on trumpets, Mike Haynes on trombone, Brian Wicklund on violin, Andy Irvine on upright bass, Stephen Mckinstry on pump organ; and Katie Gearty, Sean Severson and Fred Anderson on backup vocals.

With dramatic footage from a old muted jazz tones and calls to “Doctor John” and voodoo queen Marie Laveau, the Jorgensen’s lovely sassy vocal blend, punctuated with muted brass, will transport you back a hundred years.  The New Orleans-infusion will evoke your late night hauntings as the Jorgensens cast their spell on you.  The video itself adds to the hypnotic effect with its foreboding light and angles. The video was done by Jeremy Alameda.

 “Voo Doo” is a tale about love in the mysterious setting of Louisiana 150 years ago. The imagery that goes along with Marie Laveau, Louisiana, and this time period made it exciting to produce. — Brianna Tagg – Jorgensen
