Video Premiere: Tawny Ellis’ “Pretend Love”

Listen & Watch Video Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Tawny Ellis’ “Pretend Love.” “Pretend Love” was co-written and produced by Jesse Seibenberg (Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, A Star Is Born Soundtrack, Lissie) and recorded at Brotheryn Studios in Ojai and Palomino Sounds in Los Angeles. Tawny Ellis performs the musical track.

The noble horse starring in the video is Bugatti; the video is the collaboration of Tawny and filmmaker Lauren Banuvar. Tawny riding Bugatti bareback adds an element of free, wild natural symbolism to the song about the human heart.  Watch and be transported through the agony of a tortured relationship in “Pretend Love,” with wonderful editing and beautiful footage besides.

The idea behind “Pretend Love” is when a love connection feels real but for whatever reason it doesn’t last. We tend to want go back to get that love feeling back – it’s human nature but we ultimately know we should let it go. The meaning of the song became even deeper in meaning as we went forward with it then and ultimately with the video it uncovers deeper layers of meaning. – Tawny Ellis
