Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of “Clearance Bin” by the Taylor Scott Band from his recent album All We Have. The album was produced by Steve Berlin, engineered by Josh Fairman, and mixed by Charlie Kramsky, then mastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering. “Clearance Bin” is Taylor Scott on guitar and vocals, Jon Wirtz on organ, Chris Harris on bass, and Lem Williams on drums.
This video flashes scenes of daily life and a commute, with lyrics like “there’s 13 lights” on his way home, and all the while Scott reminds us of the important concept that “the day to day is all we have.” The music rises and falls with a hypnotically rhythmic undertone that grounds us in its imitation of that everyday routine feel. All We Have is going to be that calming, detoxifying album in your catalogue this spring.
In this video, we wanted to highlight the importance of noticing the subtle beauty of everyday life. We went with a decidedly semi-awkward “POV” style of shooting to represent the often less-than-perfect way in which we move through our days. The video’s main theme is the nuance of the simple human interactions that we happen upon throughout our daily lives. Many of the people in this video are folks who I actually know and see throughout the week as I mill around Denver. My hope is to remind people that we should do our best to remain present and experience our surroundings – the sights, sounds, places, and people – to the fullest. — Taylor Scott
