Song Premiere: Albert and His Dreamboats’ “Friday Night” from Upcoming Release on Echo Hill Records

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this song premiere of “Friday Night,” from their album Glad We Spent the Time, due to be released January 8th on Kinky Friedman’s Echo Hill Records. The album was produced by Albert & His Dreamboats with Jason Soda, recorded at Palomino Sound, mastered by Jason NeSmith with photography by Sean Rosenthal and album design by Maddie Freeman.“Friday Night” features Albert Hickman on lead vocals and guitar; Dylan Rodrigue on vocals, guitar and string arrangements, Lincoln Mendell on vocals and keys; with rhythmnists Thomas Berg on bass and Robert Anderson on drums.

In direct, outlaw country style, sounding a little like the Bottle Rockets’s Brian Henneman, the vocals deliver an old style message in tongue-in-cheek old-style fashion, while the no nonsense band brings it home.  It’s a classic Friday night tale! He “shampoos his hair” as he prepares to “head into town” to find that “fine-ass lookin’ woman.”  “I shot her a wink ’cause it’s the freakin’ weekend.”

“A song for my dudes who like the idea of chasing girls on a Friday night, but rarely follow through.” — Albert Hickman
