Song Premiere: Balsam Range’s “Graveyard Blues” From Upcoming Album

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways is pleased to present this song premiere “Graveyard Blues” from Balsam Range’s upcoming album Aeonic (Mountain Home Music Company), due to be released January 4th. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Scott Barnett, and features Caleb Smith on acoustic guitar and vocals, Tim Surrett on upright bass and dobro, Darren Nicholson on mandolin, Buddy Melton on fiddle and vocals, with Marc Pruett on banjo.

International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainer of the Year Award winners Balsam Range is set to release another album of tight interlocking rhythms and instant bluegrass classics. This premiere track, “Graveyard Blues,” spins a lyrical lament over the catchiest, most exciting acoustic instrumentation.  It’s a story of a frustrating challenge of trying to keep a farm going against almost insurmountable odds.

“‘Graveyard Blues’ is an awesome song from my pheasant hunting pal Barry Bales. This tune is the definition of sad. A couple trying to make ends meet, raise a family, and keep their farm going just can’t seem to keep it together. Coupled with an aggressive beat, it is one of my favorites from Aeonic.” — Caleb Smith
