Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Greg Felden’s single, “When The Change Comes,” is a one track taste of his first full-length record, Made of Strings, produced by Al Sgro and Will Golden (Eric Hutchinson, Joe Purdy, Brian Wright) at Los Angeles’ The Chalet Studio. Made of Strings will be released in the fall, and was featured during Showtime’s series“The Affair” last Sunday, June 24th, in the show’s second episode of the season.  But you have another chance to give this song a listen right here, right now.

“When the Change Comes” features Brian Whelan (Dwight Yoakam) on lead guitar and backing vocals and Jerry Borger (Ziggy Marley, Jonathan Wilson) on the Hammond B3 organ, and Felden on guitar and vocals, with rhythm section Ed Maxwell and Deacon Marrquin. The lyrics play along the edge between metaphor and reality; acknowledging frightening global times on one level, and on another level, the difficulties we encounter individually as part of the human condition.

Felden says:  “There is a philosophical element to all of my songs that’s trying to figure out what we’re all doing here. The songs might be about the complexity of the world or our relationships or the looming idea that it all could end at any moment. I’m interested in how we handle all of that and keep moving forward and even find love and joy.”

Made of Strings reflects the indie influence of folk and country music Felden grew up surrounded by in the Pacific Northwest, while the lyrics reflect the depth of his soul searching. Give “When the Change Comes” a listen, here:
