Be Decent “Come Sweetly”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Be Decent’s song “Come Sweetly” from their forthcoming album Now’s The Time, which is set for release on September 18. The album was mixed by “Agent” Jay Nugent of NYC ska greats The Slackers; and recorded by Mitch Rackin (The Slackers, Psychic Ills), who also mastered it.
“Come Sweetly” is Ken Partridge on bass; Geoff Bickford on drums; Jimmy Doyle on guitar and vocals; and Matt Mason on saxophone.
As Jimmy Doyle says, “‘Come Sweetly’ was born a rocksteady song many years ago in a band called The Forthrights. Then on Jimmy’s solo album, it morphed into a Nick Lowe-style song. As Be Decent, we try to play it like a Jam song or something, with lots of tuneful aggression. This version is 100% a product of the four of us and our influences.”
The arguments is over, and now it’s time to ask for her to come sweetly to his door. A classic makeup ideal, it’s carried in this song through a driving, power pop / punk enthusiasm. It’ll make you feel like moshing.
