Cody Bolden “Keep You Wishing”
Americana Highways presents this premiere of Cody Bolden’s song “Keep You Wishing” from his forthcoming album Menace To Myself. The album was recorded between MadLife Studios & Cream Fleece Studios in Woodstock, GA by GRAMMY-nominated engineer Steven Morrison (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Martina McBride), mixed and mastered by GRAMMY-winning engineer Luke Campolieta (Megan Moroney, Indigo Girls, Sugarland) and produced by Cody Bolden.
“Keep You Wishing” is Cody Bolden on vocals, acoustic guitar and electric guitar; Nate Hallman on electric guitar; Austin Saxon on electric guitar; Davis Wright on bass; Jason Holland on drums; Jack Neider on pedal steel; and Branden Blackwell on keys.
Cody told us a little about the song, “‘Keep You Wishing’ tells the story of a guy we’ve all either known—or maybe even been. Instead of spelling everything out line by line, I wanted the feeling and the groove to carry as much of the story as the lyrics. He’s the kind of man who rolls into town, knows exactly how to charm people, and uses desire to his advantage. By the time he leaves, she goes from wishing she’d see him again to wishing they’d never met. Somehow, he still walks into the next bar, lights a Marlboro Red, and you can’t help but want to buy him a drink.”
There’s intrigue and lack of connection within magnetism, and this song spotlights that facet of humanity. Existing on the darker and heavier side of things, this song explores attraction, desire and letting people down. Very compelling.
