Fred Presley “Sympathize”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Fred Presley’s song “Sympathize” from his forthcoming album. This is a re-release that was originally available previously, but, once you listen, you’ll see it’s more applicable now than ever. It was co-produced by Eric Lichter and Fred Presley; mixed by Eric M. Lichter; engineered by Guido Falivene; and mastered by Steve Wytas.

“Sympathize” is Fred Presley on acoustic guitar, lead vocals, background vocals; Eric M. Lichter on bass, guitar, keys and drums.

As Fred tells us about the song, “For me, ‘Sympathize’ is a song that needed to be recorded. I wrote it years ago but the current state of politics and the constant assault on our environment demand voices saying enough! We can no longer wait in silence for things to get better.”

Bright, pretty acoustic guitar buoy this song about the way some humans can be so “cold and ignorant” and then electric guitar takes over: “I close my eyes but I can still see right through the lies of the powers that be… talk of life in a greener world, but the green they mean is the green that feeds their greed.”
