Hank Alrich “Fast Money”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Hank Arich’s song “Fast Money,” which is the lead song from his forthcoming album Broken River, which is set for release on April 21. Broken River was recorded at Cedar Creek Studio in Austin, Texas. It was produced by Hank Alrich and Fletcher Clark; engineered by Fred Remmert and Andre Moran; and mixed and mastered by Fred Remmert at Austin Media Production.
“Fast Money” is Hank Alrich on vocals and acoustic guitar; Rick Richards on drums; Glenn Fukunaga on bass; Andrew Hardin on acoustic and electric guitars; with Warren Hood on violin; Red Young on Hammond organ and piano; Keith Little on 5-string banjo; and Shaidri Alrich on vocals.
As Hank tells us, “Originally submitted as a contender for a movie soundtrack, ‘Fast Money’ has remained unfortunately relevant in this age of Gilded Grifters. The first two verses invite a listener to conjure the meaning of it all via a series of images, and then the final verse makes the intent more explicit.”
Hank has a lovely, quintessential storytelling voice and the harmonies complement it in an honest, open and unvarnished way. This is a vulnerable, loving song coming from the heart of what it means to be human, as it expresses the heartache of working so hard for something “real, and something [we] can feel,” as opposed to other ways money can be made.
