Alexis P Suter “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” fest. Garth Hudson
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Alexis P Suter‘s version of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” from her forthcoming album Just Stay Live, which is set for release on March 17 via NOLA Blue, and features Garth Hudson of The Band. The album was produced by Vicki Bell, Peter Bennett and The Alexis P Suter Band, and it was recorded, mixed and mastered by Alan Douches of West West Side Music. It was recorded in surround sound live at The Falcon in Marlboro, NY.
“Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” is Garth Hudson on piano and accordion; Alexis P Suter on lead vocals; Jimmy Bennett on guitar; Ray Grappone on drums ; Peter Bennett on bass; Vicki Bell on vocals; Linda Pino on vocals; and Benny Harrison on keyboard.
As Alexis tells us, “Hearing Garth pour his heart and soul into the music this night had all of us enchanted. We were transformed in that moment – singing, playing, connecting with people, and healing at the same time. It was an emotional full circle, and a profound moment for all of us. We’re eternally grateful to have this recording of a special moment in time. We hope you feel the magic too.”
This is a rich, live recording of a beloved song that feels phenomenal. Alexis’ vocals are divine and the band is spine chilling powerful restraint.
