As Adam tell us about the song, “’Where The Freeways End’ explores what it feels like to give your best and still hit a wall. Filming the video in the Arizona landscape I call home (between Blue Wash Trailhead and Sears Kay Trailhead) added a layer of authenticity. The desert has a cinematic honesty to it, and that’s exactly what this song needed to me. I wrote this with the idea that you can do everything possible for someone, but in the end, it might not matter. You can give your best and still find yourself stuck.”
Laid back electric guitar melodies and a conscious questioning about the meaning of it all sums this up, all while the nuances and buildups unfold as you listen. And the message the despairing truth: sometimes you can give it your best shot and what you need most eludes you. The dramatic footage of the Arizona landscapes in black and white magnify the heartache buried in the words.
