C. Daniel Boling – “Hidey-Ho”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of C. Daniel Boling’s song “Hidey-Ho” featuring Tom Paxton, from their forthcoming album It Matters, set for release via Berkalin Records BRK on April 18.  This song will be released on March 7. It Matters was produced by Jono Manson and Daniel Boling, recorded and mixed by Jono Manson at The Kitchen Sink Studio in Santa Fe, and mastered by David Glasser at AirShow in Boulder.

Musicians on this song are C. Daniel Boling on vocals and banjo, and Tom Paxton on vocals and acoustic guitar. With Paxton and Boling perched on stools on a stage with earthy lighting as they play and sing (with some studio footage overlaid), the video context for this song is perfectly suitable. Tom starts out singing leads, C. Daniel is right there for harmonies: “Every day I wake is a darn good day for me / Life gets boring on my own / No good livin’ all alone / Barely need the telephone / Hidey, hidey, hidey-ho.”  It’s fun, it’s whimsical, and … it’s the truth.

At this point in our lives, every day is to be celebrated – even if the party is pretty sedate most of the time! – C. Daniel Boling
