This song will be available on January 3rd, and the American Equator album is due out on March 7th

Musicians on the album are Pete Mancini on guitar and vocals; Matt Patton on bass; Joe Leone on drums; Jay Gonzalez (Drive-By Truckers) on keyboards, guitar, and vocals; Tim Lee on 12 string and Bass VI; and Schaefer Llana on harmony vocals.

This song is layers of optimism, electric roots rock and you’ll listen with a little bounce in your step: “The signal that we thought we lost is peeking through again / Technicolor days never went away.”  Pete’s singing and the group harmonies bounce along above the bass line and later the electric guitar takes the melody: “searching for a reason to look past the red and gray.” A catchy jingle that could be plugged in to a number of situations.

I started writing “Technicolor Days” during the pandemic, imagining what it would be like to be able to gather and be free again. It ended up being about the realization that life can still be joyful if we don’t let ourselves become jaded. I believe the connection to the inner child is where a lot of creativity and joy comes from. It’s hard to stay connected to that sometimes, but there are reminders everywhere if you just let yourself look for them. We are heading towards some dark times again but we will need to periodically remind ourselves to see life in all its beautiful color. I hope this song does that for anyone who hears it. – Pete Mancini
