Craig Greenberg – “Dissipating Energies”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Craig Greenberg’s song “Dissipating Energies” from his forthcoming album which due to be released next year. The album was produced by Wayne Silver and Craig Greenberg at The Ice Plant in Long Island City, Queens; engineered and mixed by Wayne Silver; and mastered by Alex Psaroudakis.
“Dissipating Energies” is Craig on guitars, vocals, and synth; Hiroyuki Matsuura on drums; and Tony Tino on bass.
Dissipating energies. Are they an inevitable part of life, an inescapable cycle. Listen to this song and explore the idea together: “We live and we die by dissipating energies.” With easy, rootsy electric grooves, Craig Greenberg showcases the emotions of breakup from a position of mature resignation and acceptance.
The song is about being in a relationship and trying to make up for (unsuccessfully) what’s not working or connecting by over-giving and over-accommodating the partner. It came out of my experience of having been on both sides of this equation and having a full circle a-ha moment. – Craig Greenberg
