Wild Meridian — “How I Know”
Americana Highways presents this premiere of Wild Meridian’s song “How I Know,” from their forthcoming album due to be released in June. The album was produced by Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling producer WYNNE (Machine Gun Kelly, Lennon Stella, Odesza) in Los Angeles. It was mixed and mastered by Andrew Masters.
“How I Know” is Hillary Reynolds and Jesse Macht on vocals; Jesse Macht, Marton Bisits, and Ken Belcher on guitars; WYNNE and Tyler Carrol on bass; Rob Humphreys on drums; Marton Bisits on lead guitar and Mikey Wells on keys.
The sound of strings — crisp, clear acoustic guitar sounds — launch this song, and then your attention will shift focus to the vocals — there’s an intangible and unique quality about each one of these singers’ voices and the blend is a delight and very pretty. It’s a song about hope for a reunion, and the union of this duo really works to make the point. “You’re my reason to stay.”
Once Jesse and I started singing together, we knew we were on to something – something in our voices just locked in. Independently, we have completely different styles. Jesse has more grit and my sound is more soothing. But in this project, we play with that tension through closely-interwoven harmonies, drawing from our shared inspiration and mutual love of Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris and The Civil Wars. — Hillary Reynolds
