Tornado Sky – “The Rough and the Wild”
Americana Highways is hosting this song premiere of the title track from Tornado Sky’s forthcoming album The Rough and the Wild. The Rough and the Wild was arranged, produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Jerry Careaga, and features LA-based musical duo Jerry Careaga and Stephanie Gladhart performing their songs about the light and dark side of love.
“The Rough And The Wild” is Jerry Careaga on vocals, bass, B3 and acoustic guitars; Stephanie Gladhart on vocals; Aaron Sterling (John Mayer, Taylor Swift) on drums; Matt Rollings (Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton) on piano; Dave Cleveland (Stephen Stills, Little Big Town) on electric guitar and acoustic guitar solo.
Piano sets the stage and Stephanie sings to take us on a journey – camping under the sky, “rolling out in your jeep…I took the wheel, you played Jackson Browne under the stars, it was the great unknown, so far from home.” It’s reflective and uncomplicated and reflective of the Laurel Canyon history gently streaming everywhere on the breezes as a brand new innocent love story unfolds.
“The Rough And The Wild” kicks off the theme of the album, equating the challenges of love and a life together, to the rough and wild adventures in nature. Stephanie recalls that she was a lost child when she embarked on this new relationship and took off for a rugged adventure in Arizona. She’s a little afraid never having camped in the wild before, but finds that the exhilaration of falling in love is stronger than her fears. – Jerry Careaga
