Hamish Anderson – “Stir Crazy”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Hamish Anderson’s song “Stir Crazy” from his forthcoming album Electric, which is due to be released on October 11. This song, though, will be available on Aug 9. Electric is a full electric, dense collection of eleven songs with heavy rhythms and groovin’ buildups, co-produced by David Davis and Hamish. The songs were mostly live cuts with Hamish and his touring trio.
“Stir Crazy” is Hamish Anderson on vocals and guitar; Lauren Stockner on bass; and Pete Marin on drums.
We all remember this feeling from some months back, and Hamish expresses it with perfect clarity: “Stir crazy / Locked down / Nobody make a sound / There’s nobody on the streets / Strange times / Messing with your mind / Baby, feelings on repeat.” Think Billy Gibbons meets AC/DC and the power chords punching back at restrictions. It’s a headbanger and an instant romp that’ll have you rolling on up, and getting on down.
“Stir Crazy” was one of the first songs I worked on that started to shape the feel and sound of my new album ELECTRIC. It’s got a big riff and the power chords put me in the headspace of a AC/DC, Joan Jett, ZZ Top kind of groove. Lyrically it’s about being trapped and trying not to completely lose control. – Hamish Anderson
