The Deltaz – “Tupelo Trace”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of the Deltaz’ song “Tupelo Trace” from their forthcoming album, which is due to be released later this year. The album was produced and mixed by Mark Neill, and mastered by Lee Dyess.
“Tupelo Trace” is Ted Siegel on vocals and resonator guitar; John Siegel on drums and harmonica; Randall Ball on upright bass; and Mark Neill on percussion. Ted’s vocal tremolo is compelling and will send shivers down your spine. This song is reflective, hushed and restrained blues with the energy harnessed tightly, just below the surface, and you’re firmly planted in that sweltering Southern night air as you grapple with the howl and moan of lonesome blues. “Off in the distance I hear that weepin’ call….I sat and thought about it, I had no home at all.” The harmonica adds an unmistakeable richness to the mix.
On a hot southern night drive to Mississippi down the Natchez Trace, I was moved to write down some lines in my lyric book as I watched and contemplated from the car window the dark, lonesome past of the scenic forest parkway. – Ted Siegel (guitar, singer-songwriter)
