Peaches and Apple Pies was produced by Dom Fisher; recorded and mixed by Patrick Herzfeld at Signal Hill Recording in Austin, Texas; and mastered by Cris Burns.
“Two Dollar Bill” is Rita Bliss on banjo, harmonica, and vocals; Noah Jeffries on guitar and fiddle; Dom Fisher on bass; Jimmie Scott Calhoun on backing vocals; and Patrick Herzfeld on drums.
First up: Rita is a banjo player, and her music sounds like idyllic summertime, when music comes wafting through the countryside from somebody’s front porch, and the lyrics and the touch of fiddle complete the experience. Soothing and conducive to daydreaming. This song is about letting go of someone the hard way. “Do you ever say my name? Is it the same, is it the same? You’re right here in my pocket, you’re a two dollar bill.”
Writing “Two Dollar Bill” was extremely cathartic. The process of getting it down on paper helped me let go of some long-held grief. -Rita Bliss
