Red Wanting Blue – “Light It Up”
Americana Highways presents this lyric video premiere of Red Wanting Blue’s song “Light It Up” from their forthcoming album, which is due to be released on June 7. The album was produced by Red Wanting Blue, mixed by John Spiker, and mastered by Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone of Sterling Sound.
Musicians on “Light It Up” are Scott Terry on vocals; Eric Hall on guitars; Mark McCullough on bass and synths; Greg Rahm on piano; Dean Anshutz on drums and percussion; and Tim Warren (The Alternate Routes) on backing vocals.
Much more than simply lyrics on a screen, this is a whole video to support this uber powerful song in an outstanding visual backdrop of scenes from Scott Terry’s environment. The song begins with Scott peering through a keyhole and then: “Lost, so cold, is there a light waiting for me at the end of this dark road?” an uplift song within an uplifting video milieu.
Throughout the band’s career I’ve been known as an autobiographical songwriter…probably sharing too much at times lyrically, but it’s what I knew, so it’s what I wrote.
This is the first piece of visual media I’ve ever released that’s autobiographical as well.
Instead of creating a character and a storyline…I decided to just be me and share with the audience my real life.
Shot in Brooklyn, around my neighborhood, looking into my apartment, inside my home… I wanted to give true insight into the song in a way that I haven’t revealed before with the help of my wife (who luckily happens to be a filmmaker!). We created this video out of a few creative “date nights”, post dinner when the city was quiet. We’ve never had more fun.”–Scott Terry
