Steve Louw – “Giants Walk the Land”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of South African roots rocker Steve Louw’s song “Giants Walk the Land” from his new album Between Time. Between Time was produced by Kevin Shirley (John Hiatt, Black Crowes). This song was co-written with Midnight Oil’s Jim Moginie.
“Giants Walk the Land” is Steve Louw on acoustic guitar and vocals; Doug Lancio: Electric Guitar and Mandolin; Kevin McKendree on keyboards; Alison Prestwood on bass; Greg Morrow on drums and percussion; and features Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil) on electric guitar.
This official video for “Giants Walk The Land” was created by Jacqui Van Staden and Kian Eriksen. The groove on this song is real sultry, as the long shadows indicate the dark undertone of the song’s message – at a time when buffalo would pass, but now the earth is in pain, and then there’s still the hope that the “earth will heal, the rain falls” and the earth will heal itself in all its immensity. It’s a message we all deeply need to hear.
I am in love with the natural world, its beauty, its power, its timelessness. This is a love song to Earth. – Steve Louw
