Lance Cowan – “Blue Highway”

“Blue Highway” from his recently released album So Far, So Good. The album was produced by Jason Stelluto & Scott Paschall with Clark Hagan mixing. It was mastered by Mark Elliott.

“Blue Highway” is Lance Cowan on guitar and vocals; Pat Flynn on guitar and dobro; Jay Turner on bass; Pat McInerney on percussion; and Sam Bush on mandolin.

This lyric video was created by Lantzapalooza Muzik. Lance has wowed listeners this year with So Far, So Good, a bit of a surprise and delight on the Americana scene.  This is peaceful and easy with a gently vocals and a touch of dobro: “I grew up at the side of a blue highway … that blue highway. You might get lost before you find your way.”

This is such a simple look at a ‘blue highway’ town, in this case, Wewahitchka, Florida. It’s similiar to the town where I grew up in Kentucky. These are great towns but with limited opportunities, so, when I was 25, I really wanted to get out. Years later, having lived in a rapidly growing city like Nashville for decades, I’m thinking there’s a lot to be said for a “Blue Highway” town. – Lance Cowan
