Alan Walker – “Twist of Fate”
Americana Highways presents this premiere of Alan Walker’s song “Twist of Fate” from his forthcoming album A Little Too Late, due to be available on June 28 on Aunt Mimi’s records. A Little Too Late was produced, recorded and mixed by Lincoln Schleifer at Lincoln’s Log Cabin, in Bronx, NY. It was mastered by Jon Gordon at Jon Gordon Music Production.
“Twist of Fate” is Alan Walker on lead and background vocals and piano; John Morgan Kimock on drums; Jon Herington on electric guitars; Lincoln Schleifer on bass, percussion, acoustic guitar, and background vocals; and Rob Schwimmer on Hammond B3. This is great rootsy layered music of the highest quality with delicious Hammond B3 popping in an out, setting up a story of the one who had one too many at the cocktail bar, as he bemoans the loss of his “only true love.” Or was it? It was a little bit of a blur as it all happened at the “last call at the cocktail bar, I know it’s getting late.”
I’m excited to bring to the world the first single off my new album. ‘Twist of Fate” was one of nine songs recorded at Lincoln’s Log Cabin in the Bronx with producer Lincoln Schleifer, and a great backing band that includes Jon Herington of Steely Dan on guitar. The tune itself is a twisty upbeat song that tells the story of an unrequited love at first sight that takes place over last call at an anywhere-in-America cocktail bar. – Alan Walker
