Stoll Vaughan – “Farmer’s Almanac”

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Stoll Vaughan’s song “Farmer’s Almanac” from his forthcoming album Dream in Color, which is due to be released via Commonwealth Artist on Feb 23. The album was recorded, produced and engineered by Stoll Vaughan at Iroquois Studio in Clark County, Kentucky, with assistant engineer Franklin Vaughan.  It was mastered by Mark Chalecki at Little Red Book Mastering.

“Farmer’s Almanac” is Stoll Vaughan on guitar and vocals; John Ginty (Sheryl Crow) on keys; Dane Clark (John Mellencamp) on drums; and Mike Grosser (Grace Potter) on bass. A vintage sounding song that explores the Farmer’s Almanac, and dreaming during the cold winter about the cattle grazing, flying crows, and fixing fences in spring.   The clear fingerpicking style here already suggests a timeless character playing on the porch of a cabin, so when the video delivers just this visual, it’s exactly perfect.

Thinking about the weather and cutting grass is the action. The rest is left up to prayer. May you enjoy the day. The Farmer’s Almanac will never be the Bible but a spiritual quest, to understand the unknown. – Stoll Vaughan
