Pat really tells it like it is in this one, and who among us hasn’t had the feeling of marathon shopping, and “that old uneasy feeling as we head into the season – that family fight Thanksgiving night is still ringing in my ear…. let’s just get past Christmas this year.” But at the heart of it all, there’s love, which makes this song really shine.
I love Christmas, but there’s no denying that there are a lot of people who really struggle during the holidays, including me at times. That’s why I wrote this song. To hopefully make them smile and know that they’re not alone. And a reminder that a simple Christmas, spending time with people you love, is usually the best one. -Pat McGrath
