Douglas Wayne – “The Lightnin’”
Americana Highways is premiering Douglas Wayne’s song “The Lightnin'” from his forthcoming EP Saturn Burlesque, which is due to be released in early 2024. The EP was produced by D.W. DeHart and Daniel Dennis; and it was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Prime Cut Studio in East Nashville.
The Lightnin'” is Douglas on guitar and vocals; Daniel Dennis on bass, drums, and guitars; Lee J. Turner on keyboards; and Madison Hardy Dennis on background vocals. Rootsy heartland-style rock sets the pace for when you have to believe “a little bit of something is better than nothing, baby. I’ll take what I can get.” The thunder and the lightnin’ is sometimes worth it even when your desires are unrequited, and this song will ease you through it and have you come out with a good feeling. Keep this EP in mind for when you need to take things to a brighter place.
