Lonesome Ace Stringband – “The Echo”

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Lonesome Ace String Band’s song “The Echo” from their forthcoming album Try To Make If Fly.  The album was recorded at Neptune’s Machine by Jason Mercer, with additional recording and mixing at All Day Coconut by Gavin Gardiner.  It was mastered at Sytesounds by Andrew Collins.

Musicians on “The Echo” are Lonesome Ace Stringband (John Showman on vocals and fiddle; Max Malone on vocals and upright bass; and Chris Coole on vocals, 5-string banjo, and guitar). This song is gentle and spritely, with plucked strummed violin at the outset and then the song picks up with layers and “the echo sounded so sweet in my ear, and now it’s all I can hear.” A warning of the sweet seduction for those of us who live in our own soundbite echo chamber. 

This song is about the experience of realizing that you may be basking in the echo of your own tribe; that although you thought you were too smart to let it happen to you, you’ve nonetheless been funneled into the warm, fuzzy, glow of an ideological feedback loop. – Lonesome Ace Stringband
