I Know We Should: Palmyra at Wild Coyote Recordings
I Know We Should is the name of the audio/video production team including audio engineer Juan M Soria and videographer Brad Wagner. I Know We Should is also the title of this session series brought to you by Americana Highways which presents world-class artists in non-traditional settings, featuring studio quality audio and video.
Catch the Shenandoah Valley’s own Palmyra in an Americana Highways session captured at Wild Coyote Recordings in Guttenberg, NJ.
The 3-song session starts with the new tune “Dishes,” featuring Sasha Landon’s lead vocal, Teddy Chipouras on banjo and Manoa Bell bowing his upright bass like a goddamn champion. Chipouras takes lead vocal duties for the second new song of the session, “Stones Throw,” supported by tasty 3-part harmonies from Landon and Bell.
There’s no shortage of 3-part vocal harmony here. The last song “Microwave Dinner” leans into the funky rhythms that make me love The Wood Brothers so much, and a crunchy vocal style summoning the feeling that makes “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35,” such a pleasure to hear on repeat.
Palmyra will be at Newport Folk and AmericanaFest this year along with dozens of stops in between, stay tuned for tour dates near you.
