Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Cole Gallagher’s song “Lines in the Sky” from his forthcoming EP The Confluence. The EP was produced, engineered and mixed by Vance Powell, with assistant engineer Michael Fahey and additional engineering by William Burke.
Musicians on “Lines in the Sky” are Cole Gallagher on vocals and acoustic guitar; Chad Gamble on drums; Sadler Vaden on guitar; Barry Billings on guitar; Jon Eldridge on keys and background vocals; and Jimbo Hart on bass.
The video was directed by McKone Corkery and produced by Cole Magnacca. Wardrobe was by Ernestte Bejar and DP, editing and color was by McKone Corkery, with special thanks to Marc Levine and Carol Gibson, and Tara and Marlin from Zorthian Ranch.
Starring in the video are Cole Gallagher & Ernestte Bejar, with Eugene Prokofiev as the officer and Cole Magnacca as robbery victim. Guitar players in the video are Harrison Flynn and Lucas Bars, with Mars Horner on bass; Nicholas Anoxic on drums; and Jared Rodriguez on keys. The song is wide and expansive. A hold up to impress his girlfriend, the illicit rags to riches story parallels the ebbs and flows of any relationship and dramatic misunderstandings: “So you’re down and out. Well, what is this twisted world? Honey, can’t you see, there’s a void left in me where time stands still?”
I wrote ‘Lines in the Sky’ in the middle of the quarantine. I think the atmosphere in which I was writing at the time brought a steady urgency to the song. I never could have imagined that the song would turn out the way it did, and I certainly never could have imagined the killer guitar lines that Barry Billings plays in the song.
The music video is the love child of director McKone Corkery, producer Cole Magnacca, myself and actress, Ernestte Bejar. A lot of time and effort went into making sure that every frame counted. I think that if you can get into the song, you will definitely appreciate the video. – Cole Gallagher
