JD Darling – “Ashes to Ashes”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of JD Darling’s song “Ashes to Ashes,” from his forthcoming album Looking Forward Thinking Back. The album will be released on June 2. It was engineered by Mike Stankiewicz with Joanna Finley assistant engineer. The album was recorded at Saxman Studios in Mt Juliet, TN; at Sound Emporium in Nashville; at John Kennedy’s Mix Room in Brentwood, TN, and Our Little Cabin in Hampshire, TN.
“Ashes to Ashes” is JD Darling on vocals; Miles McPherson on drums; William Moore on bass; Nathan Keeterle on electric guitar; Tim Galloway on acoustic guitar; Luke Moseley on piano and B3; and Andy Ellison on pedal steel. Heartland rock opening up to support an invitation to sit around a fire with close friends, and this is an instant summertime classic.
“Ashes To Ashes” was the 1st song I wrote for the record. The verses are nearly a step by step recollection of a night of hanging out with friends around a bonfire. Following “I’ll Swing By Sometime,” the lyrics are about good memories being able to crowd out the bad. So, go out and make good memories while you can. — JD Darling
