Ryan Hahn and the Believers – From the Country to the Concrete
Americana Highways presents this premiere of Ryan Hahn and the Believers’ new album From the Country to the Concrete, due to be released on May 19. The album was co-produced by Ryan Hahn and Justin Gariano; engineered and mixed by Justin Gariano at Treehaus Recording with additional engineering by Michael Dumas and Shayna Adler at Horse Latitude Studios. It was mastered by Richard Dodd.
Musicians on the album are Ryan (songwriter) on vocals, electric and acoustic guitars;
Charles McCord on electric guitar and background vocals; Jonathan Baker and Kiel Feher on drums; David Hildreth on harmonica; Nathan Briner, Justin Gariano and Deke Shipp on bass.
From the sunny, upbeat opening notes, swirling piano and guitar, through loping catchy rhythms and rockin’ glory, this album swings and makes its mark. Leaving the small town and moving to settle in a big concrete city brings a lot of realizations. From the hills of Kentucky, longing to leave and passing through Texas, and beyond to the concrete and sand, Ryan Hahn captures the question of “what is home?” here in bright, comfortable arrangements.
This is an album of reflections on my journey from small town Kentucky to big city Los Angeles and all the struggles and realizations that came along the way. — Ryan Hahn
