Americana Highways presents this video premiere of Sarah Diamond & the Soul Miners’ song “Doin Whatcha Doin. The song was produced and co-written by Roger Nichols (Larkin Poe, Steven Tyler, and Hayley Williams of Paramore).
“Doin Whatcha Doin” is Sarah Diamond on vocals; JP Mooningham on vocals and guitar; Wes Eubanks on keys; Dave Arazmo on vocals and guitar; Dave Walker on bass; and Jakob Dee, grandson of the legendary Joey Dee of Joey Dee and the Starliters, on drums.
The video was directed by Ronnie DiNicola. Beach scenes and light hearted rock grooves in sunlight surround this upbeat music that flows just as early as waves on a calm day. It’s a perfect setting for the song. There’s a little jangle to this music that’ll stick with you.
We needed to differentiate ourselves. I’m a very authentic person and artist, and the key to everything is that we are authentic onstage. We came together so quickly and seamlessly as a band, and the creativity between members flows so smoothly. We’ve played our share of bars doing covers, but are not a bar band. Our performances are unique and collaborative – far more than a lead singer backed by a group of anonymous killer musicians. I think it works so well because, despite our age differences and range of performing and touring experiences, we’re all striving for similar goals personally and musically. — Sarah Diamond
