Darryl Purpose — “A Place Where Everyone Sings”

Americana Highways presents this video premiere of Darryl Purpose’s song “A Place Where Everyone Sings” from his recent EP Two Good Hands. Two Good Hands was produced by Ryan Hommel and
engineered by Ryan Hommel and Griffin Goldsmith.

Musicians on the song are Darryl Purpose on vocals and Nashville acoustic guitar; Ryan Hommel on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, baritone guitar, bass, pedal steel, synth, and string arrangement;
Griffin Goldsmith on drums and percussion; and Cynthia Tolson on violin, viola, and string arrangement.  The song was written by Mark Josephs.

The video was created by Gamblers Grace Productions.  Blowing bubbles, sunrise, sunset, mountains and blowing wheat fields in the wind.  “As a young boy I would think there must be a place where everyone sings.  But as a man, I heard no songs at all.”  Wouldn’t it be great if the world was full of singing?  Consider this in the peaceful, folksy heartfelt new music by Darryl Purpose.

Mark Josephs played me this song on the Atlantic City boardwalk when I was 21 years old. I handed him $2,000 to go make a recording, and we were friends till his untimely passing in 2016. I feel this song stands the test of time, and Mark’s music deserves to be heard, and so I asked Ryan Hommel to produce this track, in memory of Mark, one of the nicest, and most talented people I have known. — Darryl Purpose
