Americana Highways brings you this song premiere of The Light The Heat’s song “Home To You,” from their forthcoming EP Morning Light, which is due to be released on September 30. Nathan Horst and Jesse Proctor produced the EP and wrote the songs with the help of Gable Price (“Home To You)” and Taylor Armstrong (“Belong With You” & “Steady Me”). Despite hailing from different sides of the country with Jesse in Washington state and Nathan in Pennsylvania, the EP was mixed, engineered, and mastered by the duo from their respective home studios.
“Home To You” is Nathan Horst on vocals and acoustic guitar; and Jesse Proctor on percussion, bass, strings, and Ruan.
Enjoy The Light The Heat’s emotionally raw indie folk — and then take their sage advice and look for the exit signs all along the road — or maybe there aren’t any after all: “Maybe where we’re going there are no exit signs, even if the road is all we know. I’ll be home to you.” Feel the palpable honesty in the vocals as the strings build up all around the song:
Morning Light is about the journey of love. The highs and lows, the simple/mundane moments and the epic adventures. It’s learning what it looks like to walk with a lover for a lifetime. — Nathan Horst
