Hot Buttered Rum — “I Want To Be With The Dreamers”

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Hot Buttered Rum’s song “I Want To Be With The Dreamers,” from their forthcoming album Shine All Night. Shine All Night was produced by Nat Keefe, Erik Yates and Charlie Wilson and recorded, mixed, and mastered at Sound Zen Records by Charlie Wilson. Art design for the album was courtesy of Larina Nolen.

Musicians on the album are Erika Yates on vocals, banjo, dobro, and guitar; Nat Keefe on vocals and guitars; Bryan Horne on bass and vocals; James Stafford on drums, mandolin, and vocals; Ben Andrews on fiddle, mandolin, and vocals; and Jeff Coleman on piano, organ, and vocals. (Erika Tietjen contributed vocals on “Shining Twice”.)

Bluegrass swing and a very relatable sentiment is the signature style of Hot Buttered Rum, and this song delivers plenty of both.  Be with the dreamers — “let’s raise a glass for the lovers, let’s raise a glass for the lonely.”

I need to be with people who deal in the beautiful, and sometimes, the impractical. When I’m with other people trying to create art, I feel understood and nurtured. Being a creative-type personality is to be vulnerable, often people on a different kind of path miss that. “I Want To Be With The Dreamers” is a call of appreciation to the other vulnerable souls out there!” – Nat Keefe
