The silky smooth Lee Fields opened up for Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe at The Fillmore in New Orleans. Fields and his band The Expressions quickly won over the crowd with their songs of hope and togetherness.

The Expressions warmed up the crowd while waiting for Fields’ arrival. As soon as the singer walked onto the stage, Lee Fields took command and won over the crowd with his Motown era soul sounds. Fields in his early seventies, was in fine form, dressed in a red and black smoking jacket with black pants, the singer sauntered around the stage backed by former members of The Dap Kings. Fields was a ball of energy, bouncing around the stage, belting into the microphone while singing to audience members. The stage was bursting with love, accented by sweeping horn arrangements to a crowd eager to bask in positivity. There was nothing left to do but smile and dance. Highlights included “I Still Got It,” “Talk To Somebody,” “Ladies,” and “Make The World”.

Instrumental, I’m Coming Home, I still Got It, Talk To Somebody, Will I Get Off Easy This Time, Ordinary Lives, My world, Wish You were Here, It Rains Love, Could Have Been, You’re What’s Needed In My life, Ladies, Money I$ King, Make The World, Faithful Man, Honey Dove
