Americana Highways presents this premiere of Dillon Vander’s song “For Peat’s Sake” from his forthcoming album Wildfires, due to be available on April 8. The album was recorded at Robby Krieger’s (the Doors) studio in LA and produced by Michael Dumas and Shayna Adler.
“For Peat’s Sake” is Dillon Vanders on vocals and acoustic guitar; Mark Christian on guitar; Ryan Bartholemy on bass; Max Cogert on drums; and Heather Sommerhauser on harmonies.
On his latest, Vanders creates thoughtfully hopeful musical energy within a song of concern about mortality: “where else is there to go from here”? When life is already meeting most of your bucket list expectations, what’s next? Vanders poses the question for us all — is there more to life?
This is a fun song about a sad subject. It’s about hitting a point in life and wondering what, if anything, is the next chapter? Sometimes we get stuck in things we thought we wanted, not getting what we bargained for, and wondering if it’s too late. — Dillon Vanders
