Song Premiere: Clementine Was Right “Next Bus Out”

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Clementine Was Right’s song “Next Bus Out,” from their forthcoming album Can’t Get Right With the Darkness, due to be released on March 18. The album was produced by Jude Brothers and Gion Davis; recorded by Scott McEwen at Memphis Magnetic Recording; mixed by Scott McEwen; and mastered by Garrett Haines at Treelady Studios.

“Next Bus Out” is Jude Brothers on vocals and field recordings; Dick Darden on drums and vocals;
Hayden Johnson on bass; Kole Oakes on accordion; Alissa Nordmoe on lap steel and vocals;  Nathan Smerage on guitar; and Mike Young on guitar, synths, and vocals; with Gion Davis, James Williams, and Lisa Kori on vocals.

“Next Bus Out” connects immediately with a carefree energy around a life lesson that we all should learn.  Take the next bus out and change yourself for love.  Or maybe not.

It’s always exciting to promise you’ll blow your life up for someone. Of course, you can’t be trusted, and you’re not fooling anyone. This is a song about being a hick from the West and travelling in the Northeast and thinking that maybe a bus ride toward another doomed love is a great place to fail once again to make a song about the right way to snow. — Mike Young
