Americana Highways presents this video premiere of Tekla Waterfield’s song “Love Comes Along,” from her album New Skies. New Skies was produced by Jeff Fielder, mixed by Eric Eagle at Skoor Sound, mastered by Rachel Field at Resonant Mastering, and engineered by Joel Maddox at Jack Straw Cultural Center with additional engineering by Jeff Fielder and Steve Ditore.
“Love Comes Along” is Tekla Waterfield on guitar and vocals; Jeff Fielder on guitar; David Salonen on upright bass; and Luke Abbott on vocals.
The video was filmed and directed by Ryan Jorgensen https://jorgie.vision/. The video location was provided by Nikki Barron of Kittenteeth – http://www.kittenteethcoaching.com/. The video footage uses pastels and pink tones to show the song’s flavor visually. Tekla Waterfield writes songs straight from the heart, with a slow tempo for emphasis. Listen, watch, and enjoy.
We got together to make this video during the shut down in 2020 when we hadn’t seen anyone other than those few in our bubbles for weeks. At this point, I wasn’t sure when we were going to release the song, but it felt so incredibly good to be doing something with forward feeling momentum, after so much stopping and standing still. I love to embarrass my husband, and let people know that this song was inspired by falling in love with him. (He’s Jeff Fielder, the guy playing guitar in the video.) I had been in a series of failed relationships and was starting to think maybe something real, positive and grown up just wasn’t possible for me and then, boom! He showed up and it was all butterflies and love bubbles, ha! But seriously, he’s my rock. — Tekla Waterfield
