The Accidentals harmonies burst through in exciting unexpected waves sometimes in an overall comforting song. We could all use a little comforting right now. The video shows the band at play in the woods with all the toys that had been in storage. The refrain, “you still have time” hearkens back to childhood when those games were vital, and the simple joys of being home.
We’ve toured 250+ shows a year since we were 18, sometimes it feels like life passes incredibly fast for us, and we have to remind ourselves: ‘You still have time.’ This became the refrain for a song I started writing while we were driving home through a massive snowstorm after a really long tour. My parents had called to let me know my childhood dog, Maggie, was dying. I was trying to get back in time to to say goodbye. I kept telling myself, “slow and steady, you have time” as the hours passed.
It’s hard to say what any day will bring. The song title stuck around to remind me to take the time to be present when you have the opportunity. — Katie Larson
