J.M. Clifford delivers music that is moving on several levels — lyrically, sonically, and emotionally. This song is a prime example. Check it out.
I played this one in front of a live audience for the first time the other night. It was equal parts terrifying and cathartic. Being this vulnerable is a bit unnerving. What will people think when they hear me tell such a sad story? On the other hand, singing the tune and releasing it into the world feels like I’m getting something big off my chest.
I love the way the band played on this one. Very sparse and soulful. It suits the lyrics so perfectly. And Sam Brown’s backing vocals are stunning. — J. M. Clifford
