“Under the Gun” is Jesse Aycock on guitar and vocals; Paddy Ryan on drums; Aaron Boehler on bass; and John Fullbright on keys. The video was produced and directed by Jesse Aycock.  Glorious footage of a stowaway marionette on a cross country road trip set the mood for the lighthearted message in this heartland rock song.  Musically you won’t find anything more Americana charming than this.

I shot this video on my own. It was somewhat challenging, working a puppet and filming at the same time, but it came together in the end. I definitely got a few weird looks from passers-by. It’s not every day that you see someone walking a puppet down the street. The song itself is somewhat metaphorical. I thought the string puppet represented the idea that no matter where you go in life, or how fast you run, there are always strings pulling at you. It’s that battle of accepting what is out of our control. It’s all of the anxieties, fears, and misconceptions that keep us from seeing the good things in front of us. — Jesse Aycock
