Americana Highways presents this premiere of Sean Harrison’s song “Big Decisions” from his forthcoming album Halfway from Nashville. Halfway from Nashville was produced by Michael Brinson, Paul Carabello and Sean Harrison, and is due to be available on November 6. The album features a painting by Sir Sidney Robert Nolan, featuring Australian outlaw Ned Kelley and his homemade armor.
“Big Decisions” is Sean Harrison on vocals; Michael Brinson on guitars and bass; Don Martin on drums; and Rick Endel on keyboards. With a tongue-in-cheek commentary on traditional male-female dynamics in relationship, Sean Harrison has wrangled another piece of his signature outlaw country fare.
I like writing humor. One of my favorite ways to write humor is to make fun of guys who think they’ve got it all figured out and under control. They don’t know what gullible schmoes they really are. And … I almost said I used to be like that … I probably AM like that. But I don’t mind poking fun at myself. Plus, I was raised by a strong woman and I really like strong women. They say behind every great man is a woman rolling her eyes. That’s where this song comes from. Paydays is another song like this, except that the woman in Paydays isn’t very noble herself. – Sean Harrison
